With over 40 years’ experience in real estate, Tony is considered one of the industry’s most respected property executives. PortNordica has to date invested $400 million of equity across 60 projects and Tony, in his own capacity, ranks as PortNordica’s 2nd largest investor.
In 1997, Tony acquired the Laing + Simmons Group from the publicly listed ASX company Mulpha Australia Ltd. This acquisition included some 50 real estate franchise offices in Metropolitan Sydney. The Laing + Simmons Group was sold in 2013 to a Canberra based property group.
In 1987 he started the franchise business Laing + Simmons Commercial as the working principal, managing over 70 staff members until he sold the business to global real estate group Cushman & Wakefield in 2008. Tony remained on as managing director of Cushman & Wakefield until 2012.

Bruce’s career spans: valuation, corporate agriculture, corporate banking, merchant banking, project finance, investment banking, funds management and private equity.
He firmly believes in the alignment of all parties within any investment and fosters a co-investment model with rewards flowing upon success, not appearance.
PortNordica and its success reflect the knowledge and desire to create rewarding investment opportunities, for discerning co-investors, who achieve this by aggregating to punch above their financial weight class. In the commercial world, this occurs when returns increase and risk reduces with smart aggregated investment clout.
With success flows communal responsibility: demonstrated through his strong association with the charity Aussie Deaf Kids Limited.
